Ripton Community Church

Although the Methodist Episcopal Church organized in Ripton in 1829, worshippers did not have a building of their own until the completion of the church in 1864. Membership was strong through Ripton's boom years, late 1800's into the first decades of the 1900's. Thereafter declining attendance resulted in less regular services. By 2000 the church hosted only an annual Christmas Eve service. Since 2006, the Friends of the Ripton Community Church (FRCC) has overseen major restoration of the church and sponsors activities to support the ongoing work. The Ripton Community Church is located in Ripton village next to the town office (see map).  Read more about the church's history.
